Current Dogs

We are the proud owners of three Sealyhams. In order of appearance in this photo taken Nob 2010 are Jasmine, Jasper, Kasha, Great-grandmother and Becky, the Mom of Jasmine.  Becky is the one off to the side checking out what might be in the taller grasses. Kasha passed away in December. In this photo we were at the Maple Grove off leash dog park and as you can tell the dogs love to be there.  It is a well used dog park and provides good exercise for the dogs and us.

Jasper and Jasmine

We have kept two puppies from our Oct 2009 litters. They are now thirteen months old in the picture above and Jasper is ten months old when these "green grass" pictures were taken. . Jasmine is a carbon copy of her Mom except that her head markings are on the opposite side. Jasper is an outgoing and energetic boy. He and Jasmine are best buds and often sleep draped over each other. They are trying to hunt squirrels in the back yard that run along the top of the fence. They have learned to look up into the trees to try to locate the chattering that they hear. They have trained us to let them in and out with a series of whines and other noises.

These pictures are of Jasper who lives to play fetch with his ball. The top photo is him running back up hill after just searching and finding the ball that was thrown some distance away. He is so proud, "I've found my ball. See, I've got it!"

He has learned to "search" for it when it is out of sight. The next morning he can even remember where he has left it before going to sleep the night before. Maybe he will become our next dog for entry into earth dog trials.

Jasmine is most adventuresome of the pair of puppies and was the first to want to be on this log which is approximately three feet off the ground in the dog park.  The others also had a turn up there but were not as content to stay.

Becky

This is Becky on the left and her sister, Oreo, on the right in August 2007 at one year and seven months of age. Becky was born on January 13th, 2007 and completed her Championship in April of 2009 (Ch. Winsomeways Beck and Call). She has a harsh coat, easy to strip. She is the easiest dog I have ever groomed. She loves walks in the off leash park, sitting on the couch next to us as we watch T.V. and chasing squirrels as they tease her near the bird feeder. She sleeps with our cat. She had an easy welping process and is being an excellent Mom to her litter.

Did you say COME!

...and lived in our home since our kennel began in 1979. In addition to those above, listed in reverse chronologically order from present to past.

oberon

Breezie, Ch. Mainstage Aint Misbehavin.

This is Breezie during the left in fall of 2006 doing her Humphrey Bogart interpretation. Although this is only a rolled rawhide chew it does look like a cigar.  . Breezie went to live with a family in St. Paul, Minnesota this summer and has become the "apple" of their eye, and a lap and foot warmer, too. She was born in June 2004 and completed her Championship in May 2007. She is the grandmother of the recent litters.

She has an excellent temperament, and looks lovely in show coat. She weighs nineteen pounds. She loves to chase squirrels and readily went down the above ground training chutes during her first exposure to a working dog trial. She loves the same things as her daughter above. At the off leash park she would often lead the others off the path to explore nooks and crannies where other wildlife might be found. She was our "hunter".

Katisha

This is Kasha, Mainstage Katisha. She was not shown because my life was under stress at that time. I think she would have easily gained her championship. She was born in April 1999 and passed away just prior to Christmas.

She was the foundation female for all our current dogs and has passed on her good genes. She was the top dog in our home and in spite of her age 11.75 years was still active and able to keep up with the younger dogs. She was a pet, truly loved and enjoyed.

Oberon

Mainstage Oberon born 1997. He is the dog in the middle with his Mother, Kylie on the right and younger half sister Katisha. This Winnipeg family kindly posed with our dogs for this photo. They have had two Sealys of their own, Comet who recently died at 13 years of age (Oberon's brother) and Millie who is now 11.75 years old (Katisha's sister).

kylie

Kylie

Willow Blossom Time (imported UK) born 1993.

Kylie was shown as a Veteran in this photo. She had not lost her sparkle for the show ring. Her nickname was "Whirlpool" as anything that was dropped on the floor instantly disappeared without a trace of crumb or sauce remaining.

pirate

Pirate

Ch Mainstage Pirate of Penzance born 1988. He was my favorite. Such a charmer. He didn't like to cuddle as a young puppy. After awhile he learned to cuddle by pushing his head into my chest to return the hugs.

Katie

Can Ch. Rowanedge Frivolity (imported UK) born 1982. What a sweet heart! She was before her time, as few judges had seen a dog with her markings. I can remember one judge going to look at the standard to see if the blue badger marking was allowed.
